House in Ergolding
Laid out with its main aspects facing north and south, the house was sited close to the road to screen off the open space to the rear and thus retain a maximum area for private garden uses. The long north entrance front facing the road is punctuated by only three openings. The rear southern face, in contrast, contains broad areas of glazing that open on to a patio and the garden. The sliding glass doors here allow an outdoor continuation of the living space. The living room extends over both floors of the house to the underside of the roof, where it is lit from above by a skylight along the ridge.
