"Egebjerggård" Housing Development in Ballerup, Denmark
This development represents the latest extension to an area of new housing for a small community near Copenhagen. In the 1980s, an ideas competition for experimental urban planning was held for this area, the aim of which was to integrate various functions and forms. A point was made of drawing future users and neighbours into the planning process. In the areas that have been developed since then, a mixture of residential and commercial uses has been created in a number of different neighbourhoods, resulting in a lively urban fabric.
