The Kabuki-cho office building is situated in a narrow street at the heart of Tokyo. Regulations requiring adequate daylight conditions led to the building being set at the rear of the site, thus creating a large open space adjoining the road. Access to the building is via a small courtyard that leads to the main entrance at the foot of the services tower. The tower is articulated as an independent structure, and houses the staircase, lift and service installations. The main section of the building has a simple steel frame structure encased in concrete.
