Pavilion in Bottrop
The pavilion stands on an embankment at the end of a future large-scale sewage purification plant and serves as an information centre and exhibition space. The roof structure is a large-span, prefabricated, trussed-girder bridge. It is accessible via an open staircase and can be used as a viewing platform. The solid towers at the ends form supports for the bridge and provide both longitudinal and lateral bracing. The exhibition space is enclosed by two large, sloping glazed surfaces that rest on the bridge structure and ensure maximum transparency.
