The new Channel 4 headquarters in Westminster is seamlessly integrated into the surrounding urban fabric. Only the lift and services tower, crowned by a mast, asserts itself over the neighbouring buildings. The right-angled layout of the development closes two sides of the street block and creates a quiet courtyard to the rear, beneath which is a 3-storey underground garage for 400 vehicles. The division of the building into two wings makes provision for alternative uses in the future. The dramatic entrance situation is flanked on one side by a stack of conference rooms and on the other by the services tower.
