Glass Sanitary Cells in Student Hostel in Constance
A new glass construction system was developed for the sanitary cells in this student housing scheme. The cells incorporate a shower, lavatory basin and WC and were built into the upper floor of each dwelling unit. The floors, walls, doors and shelves of the cells are of single-layer and laminated safety glass. The sheets are joined by stainless steel angles and hinges, and jointed with clear silicone. There are, in fact, considerably fewer joints than in conventional bathrooms. The non-slip floor has a ceramic coloration.
