House on Lake Constance

The terrace to which this house belongs represented an attempt to lower costs and reduce construction times by using industrial building elements, and steel as the main material. The original concept was realized only in the architect's own house, however. The ground floor accommodates the children's realm. The first floor comprises a multifunctional living- dining area with an integral open kitchen. This floor is linked to the attic storey by a large, double-height space. The load-bearing structure consists of a galvanized steel skeleton frame.
