The Finnish embassy is situated in Massachusetts Avenue at the heart of the diplomatic quarter of Washington, D.C. The narrow site lies on the edge of an escarpment and possesses a fine stock of trees with over 20 different varieties. The building can accommodate some 50 employees. In addition to the offices, it contains conference rooms, a small library and a multi-purpose space that can be used for receptions, seminars, exhibitions and concerts. A central access zone with staircases, ramps and galleries extends through the entire length of the building.
