House in Hard, Austria
The strict geometric architecture of this house sets a striking note in the sprawl of surrounding developments. The cubic form of the grey, exposed concrete structure is largely closed on the outside, although to the south, it opens into a concrete frame façade, and various spaces are also cut out of the volume. The transition from outside to inside represents a penetration of a closed form to a spacious open interior. The entrance zone, reached from the north side, takes the form of a strip cut through the entire width of the building.
