Courthouse in Oslo
Situated in the centre of Oslo, the court building combines a modern architectural language with classical forms. The layout is articulated by a large covered courtyard and a pronounced circulation axis. The main entrance is used by both staff and visitors. The internal routes for the public, for staff, and for prisoners taken from the waiting cells in the basement to the courtrooms have been separated. The load-bearing structure is in insitu concrete, with precast concrete elements used as linings to all floors.
