The tent house is set amidst wooded hills north of Brisbane. The basic structure consists of a series of rectilinear steel portal frames, designed as a lightweight kit that can be easily transported and erected. The external walls to the main living and sleeping areas are either roll-up elements of clear vinyl or woven Dralon fabric; or steel-framed sliding panels "glazed" with clear vinyl sheeting. The house can thus be transformed into a covered open space in hot weather.
