The roof covering was initially designed to protect the mosaics of the Roman Villa of Agrippa. The excavations extend over an area of 912 m². The individual tent units were prefabricated. Based on a 4 x 4 m grid, the modular construction facilitates a flexible extension of the protective covering in any direction. The load-bearing structure consists of tubular columns supporting a trussed framework in which the pyramidal membrane elements are fixed. The elements, made of PVC-coated polyester fabric, are anchored to the lower nodes of the frame and suspended by stainless steel cables from the upper nodes.
