Covered parking for the disabled in Berlin
For ease of parking, the four support columns for this roof are placed behind the parking spaces. A concrete pedastal protects each column. Jointed to the columns are pairs of L-sections, suspended at the ends via tension bars to reduce the span. To this horizontal construction are attached semi-circular curved hollow sections, to which are affixed sheets of acrylic glass joined by aluminium overhead tracks. Drainage gutters between the cantilevered girders direct rainwater into downpipes in the main columns and from there along a channel let into the floor.
