»De Evenaar« is located in a densely built-up residential area. Like a stone sculpture and detached on all sides, the building is conspicuously but sensitively set up in Ambonplein, a small square forming the centre of the quarter. The design of this school is yet another example of the architect's commitment to the ideals of the Montessori-reform movement, the ultimate aim being to create an ambience that furthers and enhances the individual and social living, playing, learning and teaching conditions of its occupants.
