The Navigation Pavilion is one of the so-called 'theme pavilions' in the 1992 world Expo exhibition in Seville. After the exhibition has finished it is intended to use the pavilion as a museum for shipping and navigation for the town of Seville. The viewing tower adjacent to the pavilion marks both a new navigation point on the Guadlquivir river and also the southern entrance to Expo 92. Its position on the banks of the river is a very favourable one, in view of its later function as a maritime museum - the long quayside will enable more exhibits to be moored alongside the museum, both real historic ships and models in a scale of 1:1.
