A redevelopment and improvement plan for the church square in Weissenhorn proposed re-paving in small granite blocks, redefining the traffic areas, the erection of decorative railings on two sides and a new fountain in the middle of the square. Likewise in granite, the fountain echoes the shape of its neo-Gothic cast iron predecessor. Simple metal pipes similarly keep to tradition. To provide a better link between the church square and the old town, a steel and wooden footbridge was constructed. It consists of two glued laminated wood girders in a longitudinal direction, affixed on their underside to six transverse pipes.
