Design Office in Gundelfingen
New work space for the design office of the Gartner company was to provide suitable accommodation for various teams of project engineers; hierarchical differences in quality of workplace were to be avoided. The open layout of the building promotes a communicative teamwork approach. Light plays a very important part in the design - every workplace had to be suitable for both drawing board and computer screen. Twin 2-floor pavilions, 42 m long and 21 m deep were the answer. Each pavilion contains 75 workplaces over 2 levels. In addition the whole Gartner building itself serves as a test ground for new developments in the fields of thermal and solar protection and daylight illumination.
