House Nieuwland in Rotterdam
The house is located on a former ice-skating field, one of the last vacant plots along the Kralingse Plaslaan, a busy traffic road in Rotterdam. Accordingly, the facade to the north east facing the street is closed, whereas the rear facade facing the quiet, private garden with a pleasant view of the Kralingse Plaslake exhibits an open facade with loggias and glass sliding doors. High trees help to screen the house from the traffic noise.
