The design concept of this house for a young family with two children was governed by the topographical situation on the one hand, hillside plot, and the owner's desire for a generous open sequence of spaces on the other hand. The flight of free-standing stairs together with the roof light form the nucleus of the house, it organizes the living realm and acts as link between the mutual recreational realm on the hillside storey, the living realm on the ground floor and the sleeping realm on the top storey. The house offers unimpeded vistas of the charming Pilsensee and the foothills of the Bavarian Alps.
