A Victorian country house, perched on a hill, was stripped of its many unrelated and damaged additions and restored. This symmetrical building is architecturally rather unremarkable and was probably outdated even when it was first constructed. And since Cullinan and his team don't subscribe to the idea that a building should be preserved simply out of consideration for its age, they would have preferred to demolish it. However, the client insisted on preservation, and although the building can claim no architectural distinction, it nevertheless significantly influenced the entire new construction project.
