Triangle House, Residential Building in Pfaffenwiesbach/Taunus

The topographical feature – a steep slope – and the north-south axis as a diagonal of the square plot are the starting points of the design. The project aims to create living and working space for two people whose lives are still without long-term commitments regarding career, work, children, and leisure. Openness to landscape design experiments in the exterior space and to spatially impactful art presentations in the interior are further requirements. The site conditions and the needs of the users led to a design that follows a typological (con)sequence, progressing from the cost-saving one-room house (Nordburg/Celle, see Detail 83/5) through the energy-efficient urban villas of the "Green Houses" (settlement in Berlin) to the triangular house as a structural synthesis.
