The narrow, sloping plot with views of Lake Constance lies on the edge of a district predominantly characterized by flat-roofed buildings. The detached house and the small attached apartment are accessed via a shared vestibule on the lowest level. The attached apartment is located on the entrance level, while the living levels of the main residence are arranged in quarter-storey increments following the slope of the hillside. The diagonally positioned central staircase orients all living spaces towards the main direction of sunlight. It leads towards the rooms when entering the building, but bypasses them when exiting.
