Residential Building in Ittingen, Canton of Basel/ CH
The house is situated on the edge of the village centre, facing the rear facades of old farmhouses and barns. Its exterior adopts the form and materials of the rural buildings, thus blending seamlessly into the village structure. Behind this simple exterior, however, lies a spacious apartment. The building's efficiency stems primarily from its symmetrical floor plan: opposite the central staircase is the service core with its clearly organized utilities. The five simple, equally sized rooms, each measuring 30 square metres, are flexible in their use and can be subdivided if needed.
