Michelrieth Youth Conference Centre, Youth Accommodation House
The three Protestant deaneries of Aschaffenburg, Lohr, and Würzburg constructed the youth hostel with self-catering facilities as the first phase of their project in 1983/84. The building stands on the outskirts of Michelrieth on a roughly 11,000 m² plot of young woodland. The deliberately modest height of the building and its construction as a timber frame structure with wooden beam ceilings are designed to complement the surrounding forest, allowing the building to blend harmoniously into the landscape.
