Food and snack stalls, kiosk pavilions in spa towns – still lovingly decorated – and the ubiquitous snack bar culture on street corners, as well as Italian market umbrellas, are the "images" of the past. Our overall plan for the redesign and renovation of Munich's main train station envisions a second level, a "gallery," running through all the halls, which will almost double the usable service and retail space. The kiosks are also clearly visible from this pedestrian bridge, the post office located above, and the restaurants; therefore, flat kiosks were out of the question, as they would also attract dirt and cans.
