The new Fleetguard plant—a subsidiary of the Cummins Engine Company, headquartered in Cookeville, Tennessee—comprises production lines for industrial filtration systems, large storage facilities, a power plant, a laboratory, communal areas, and the administrative headquarters—a total of 8,750 m² in the first construction phase, with planned expansion possibilities up to 40,000 m². In keeping with the high technical, design, and social standards that Fleetguard/Cummins generally upholds, the new building, through its architectural quality, was intended to help establish the company on the European mainland. At the same time, it was designed to be flexible enough to accommodate changing functions and needs, and it was designed to be expandable.
