Warehouse Building Wasserburger Arzneimittelwerk

Due to the poor soil conditions, the building had to be founded on piles. The piles, driven at 3-metre intervals, support reinforced concrete foundation beams spaced 6 metres apart, which form the bearings for the multi-span base slab. A steel frame with columns spaced 6x6 metres is erected on this slab. The columns, designed as pendulum supports, consist of four isosceles steel angles with their legs facing outwards. They are connected by tie plates such that their spacing corresponds to a masonry thickness of 24 cm.
