The Stadelhofen Passage's current form was fundamentally shaped by the public referendum in favour of preserving the two detached patrician houses, "Zum Sonnenhof" and "Zum Baumwollhof," and the demolition permit for the house situated between them. The new development transforms the courtyard, previously inaccessible to the public, into a vibrant pedestrian network accessible from all sides. The arrangement of the new buildings and the two historic structures creates a diverse array of courtyards, passageways, and alleyways open to the public.
