Explanation of the planning process: The old school building, located in the redevelopment area of the same name, "Alte Realschule" (Old Secondary School), was initially to be examined for the possibility of renovation. The new requirements—apartments, shops, garages, and a covered walkway—proved impossible to fulfill within the existing footprint. Due to the building's poor condition, any other use was ruled out. The findings of the investigation, and ultimately the building's unusual appearance for Wasserburg, led to its demolition.
