Three Timber Frame Buildings - Three Construction Systems
We developed a simple modular system based on the numerical sequence 3-9-18 cm: The numbers 3 and 9, "mini-modules," not only have symbolic references to Asian architecture but also represent simple series of measurements that correspond to human dimensions and objects. All vertical dimensions—transoms, muntins, room heights—are based on this series. The "mini-module" of 15 mm then allows for fine-tuning of the proportions, since edge profiles and profile doublings are not always aligned with the module axis.
