House in Liestal
The house has a simple, classic floor plan with a centrally located staircase. Facades and floor plan are designed using the Fibonacci sequence of proportions. The sparingly used cornices and capitals are functionally derived. For example, the prefabricated concrete beams rest on a cornice. The cornice capping the exterior wall protects the outer layer of the double-shell masonry and simultaneously marks a clear separation between the house (connected to the earth) and the roof (connected to the sky).
