Renault Centre Swindon, Wilt / GB Warehouse, Office and Exhibition Building
The building is constructed on a 24 x 24 m module. The first construction phase comprises 42 units, of which 36 are used for storage, and the remaining six for offices, computer rooms, training rooms, a restaurant, and a showroom for cars and trucks. Each structural unit includes 16 m high round steel masts at the four corners, from which the lateral edge beams, angled in a shallow arc, and the diagonal beams of each bay are suspended. Steel purlins spaced four metres apart support the roof membrane. Despite the numerous penetrations, the roof is covered by a continuous PVC membrane.
