In the 1970s, a patrician house in Cologne was rebuilt. It was intended to serve as the architect's office and residence. The former garden was almost entirely built over to create the drawing room, but the roof was replanted as a garden terrace. The deep room is well-lit by large, slanted studio windows facing the remaining small courtyard, and the angled glazing simultaneously makes the courtyard appear larger.
