Glass Elevator Tower at the Elsa-Brändström-Haus in Hamburg-Blankenese

The Elsa Brändström House, part of the German Red Cross, has established an international meeting place, primarily for charitable activities, in the former villa of the Warburg banking family. The building is located on the Kösterberg hill in Blankenese, within a nature reserve, offering a magnificent view of the Elbe River. The challenge was to make the house accessible to wheelchair users by installing or adding an elevator. Since installing an elevator inside the building was not possible without significantly altering the floor plan, an extension was the only viable solution.
