Heussallee Bonn Subway Station
The Heussallee station is located at the interface between the city centre and the government district. The design concept for the station, which was already under construction, was developed in 1973 from two designs by architectural firms in Vienna and Cologne. The Bonn light rail system was put into operation at the end of March 1975. The architectural concept aimed to create a welcoming and attractive underground environment through colour and design – both on the platforms and in the concourse – while considering the durability of materials and structural details for well over fifty years.
