Triple Gymnasium in Hausham, Upper Bavaria
The triple gymnasium was planned in conjunction with the special needs school of the Miesbach district, based on the competition entry. It is designed as a shared school, sports, and leisure facility. The gymnasium, with a clear opening of 27/45/7 m, was sunk one story into the terrain to achieve the necessary level of load-bearing soil, which lies 3 m below ground level, while simultaneously preserving the scale of the existing landscape and surrounding buildings.
