St. Michael's Catholic Parish Church in Rosenheim

The planning for St. Michael's Church in Rosenheim followed a series of standardized parish centres designed and built for the Archdiocese of Munich-Freising between 1972 and 1975. Initially, the intention was to integrate the church space spatially and aesthetically with the existing parish centre. However, as the project progressed and discussions with the congregation unfolded, the church gradually developed a more independent character. The area around the church was raised by several steps above street level. This resulting forecourt, complete with a fountain and fire pit, serves both liturgical and communal functions.
