Dischingen Secondary School

The single-storey building, constructed of wood and natural stone, is situated on the edge of the village, amidst the typical landscape of the Eastern Swabian Alps. Locally sourced white Jurassic limestone was chosen for the dry-stone facing of the walls, which separate the classroom wings and, on one side, form the boundary for outdoor classrooms. Large roof overhangs protect the wooden facade and, together with the fixed wooden louvers providing sun protection, create a visually defined open space in front of the floor-to-ceiling windows of the classrooms.
