Residential Building in Dörfles near Kulmbach

The house was formerly used as a combined living space (one-third) on the ground floor and a stable (two-thirds). The attic on the east side was converted to full height, providing bedrooms and storage space. After farming operations ceased, the building's dilapidated condition necessitated a thorough renovation. Only the sandstone masonry of the mid-19th-century exterior walls could be preserved. Only on the south side, the north gable, and the jambs of the former stable doors did repairs or additions become necessary. Aside from the repair of minor damage, the ochre-coloured stone itself underwent no restoration or treatment.
