The Ludwig-Uhland School, built in phases between 1958 and 1960 as a primary and secondary school, was expanded with the addition of a secondary school. The planning had to take into account the requirement for shared use of various classrooms with the primary and secondary school in the original building. With its carefully considered proportions of both area and height, the articulated building, three stories high on the valley side and two stories high on the slope, integrates itself into the small-scale surroundings of the mixed-use development at a moderate distance from the awkwardly shaped hillside site.
