Viernheim Forest Sports Hall
In 1978, the city of Viernheim held a limited competition for the design of the Waldsporthalle (forest sports hall), which was to be located between the existing stadium, the Amicitia restaurant, and the swimming pool. The architects endeavored to integrate the exceptionally large volume into the existing pine trees by lowering the building by 4.50 metres and segmenting its structure. The "stacking" of the smaller halls in the right-hand section of the building also serves this purpose, avoiding unnecessary land use.
