European Investment Bank, Luxembourg
The European Investment Bank is located on the Kirchberg Plateau, one of the most prominent hills near Luxembourg City. The building was constructed through collaboration between all the countries of the European Community. To achieve a balance between the building's volume and its natural surroundings, the architect used the height of the neighboring trees as a benchmark. Close interaction between the environment and the building's interior was another fundamental principle of the design.
