The property, situated on the outskirts of a medium-sized village, already had a turn-of-the-century half-timbered house on its front portion. The rear portion was rezoned as building land in a new development area. The client, a single, practicing country doctor, desired a practical, easy-to-maintain bungalow with excellent protection from the intense summer sun and good sun exposure in winter, low heating and maintenance costs, and optimal access to the garden.
