St. Mary's Church is situated at the intersection of the old town centre and the newer residential areas of Langenbochum, on an elongated plot of land between two streets. The entrance is axially aligned with the church front and flanked by existing parish buildings and mature trees. The centerpiece of the redesign remains the imposing crossing cross of the neo-Gothic brick building, erected around 1910, with its nave and transept arms of equal height and length, their orientation emphasized only by the polygonal chancel.
