Parish Church of the Village of Benediktbeuern

The old rectory, a dominant feature of the village landscape with its massive, upright gable roof, necessitated a correspondingly enclosed building cube for the church, which was to be attached directly to it, given the limited volume of the church interior. This interplay between the building mass and the silhouette served as the starting point for the development of the church's exterior design. Connected to the rectory via a short intermediate wing, the central building combines a nearly square base with a pyramidal roof that echoes the pitch of the rectory roof.
