On a west-facing slope with unobstructed views, overlooking the village of Pollanten in the Sulz Valley, stands St. George's Church, originally built in the Early Middle Ages and given a Baroque makeover in 1722. It was erected on a prehistoric cult hill with a fortified wall. The church, which had become too small for the parish, was expanded with a new nave offering 300 seats and standing room for 150, along with a rectory, creating a semi-open parish centre grouped around a garden courtyard. The new nave connects at a right angle to the tower of the old church via a shared sacristy. The tower now serves as a weekday chapel and is used for baptisms, confessions, and other religious services.
