Administrative Building of an Oil Company in Vernon Hills/USA
The Rust Petroleum Company's main administrative building is situated in a park-like setting on the outskirts of Vernon Hills, Illinois. Key aspects of the design included smooth internal circulation, ample natural light, easy maintenance, and the creation of pleasant, human-centred workspaces. To preserve the existing greenery, the two stories of the 100-metre-long, 42.5-metre-wide building were raised above the open parking level (112 spaces) by structural columns. Employees access their workplaces from the parking level via secure corridors.
