The Schoten Music School provides basic training for later conservatory studies, but also fosters musically gifted children who do not aspire to a career as a musician. Until now, the school, with its approximately 900 students, was housed in an old municipal building along with a community kindergarten and a registration office. The cramped conditions and growing student numbers necessitated the renovation of the existing classrooms, the creation of school-specific infrastructure, and the expansion of the facilities by ten classrooms, including teachers' and administrative offices, as well as a music hall.
