Village Centre in Uitikon/Switzerland
The planning for the village centre of Uitikon was based on a master plan developed from a comprehensive inventory of the existing buildings in the village centre. The existing building fabric of the old village centre – characterized by the interplay between large, stately farmhouses with massive roofs and smaller-scale barns and sheds, groups of houses and rear outdoor spaces – was to be preserved and further accentuated in the new buildings.
