Sculptor's Studio House near Hamburg
The property is located in the "Yierlanden" on the Dove-Elbe, Hamburg's agricultural and still village-like rural area, directly on the dike and with a beautiful view of the Dove-Elbe to the south. The studio and residence are separated on staggered levels, with the sparsely designed staircase serving as the central circulation route. The slope of the terrain from the dike to the Elbe was utilized with minimal earthworks: the studio building, with its basement, lies at the lowest level, while the living quarters are on the intermediate level, facing south, and the bedrooms, with their low ceilings, are situated under the shed roof.
